Portrait of Zaheer, outdoor and fishing photographer, in waders by the river

Some of the best mornings start before the light does. An hour's drive, the last of the gravel, and then quiet. I've spent years out in it. Rivers, treelines, the slow work of paying attention. Photography was how I started keeping what I found.

Mile35 is that instinct made into a practice. I photograph the outdoors the way a day actually unfolds. Not single trophy shots, but the whole arc of it. The arrival, the setup, the quiet middle, the walk back out. The aim is to notice the moments already there.

I'm Zaheer, based in Beamsville, in Ontario's Niagara region. Fly fishing, camping, and wandering a little further than I planned are where I'm most at home and where most of this work is made.

I also shoot commissioned work. Stills and video for brands and businesses who want the same unforced approach. Alongside Mile35 I'm a co-founder of Lastdrift, an outdoor and fishing brand, where I handle photography and film.

If that's the kind of work you're after, let's talk.

Nothing forced. Just found.
